Description: Navigating Unethical Conduct of Colleagues: A NASW Code of Ethics–Guided Webinar is a one-hour training for Illinois social workers aimed at recognizing and responding to unethical behavior among colleagues while upholding professionalism and client safety. The course uses the NASW Code of Ethics to help participants differentiate unethical conduct from conflicts or professional incompetence. Topics covered include confidentiality breaches, boundary issues, exploitation, and negligence. Participants learn a practical response process involving situation assessment, documentation, appropriate consultation, direct communication, and formal reporting when necessary. The training concludes with a scenario, guidance through documentation, ethical standards, consultation, and safeguarding clients. The course encourages a curious, fair, and client-focused approach to ethical issues and clarifies it is not a substitute for legal or case-specific advice.
