Madison, WI- The National Association of Social Workers Wisconsin Chapter (NASW-WI) looks forward to the Wisconsin State Supreme Court’s hearing of oral arguments in Tony Evers v. Howard Marklein on January 16th, 2025. The Court’s final decision on this case could reaffirm the ability of Wisconsin professions to set their own Conduct Code as well as stop the extremely harmful practice of conversion therapy.

As I begin my final year as President of NASW-WI, I feel both grateful and inspired. Serving in this role has been one of the greatest honors of my career. It has given me a front-row seat to the resilience, creativity, and commitment of social workers across our state. Over the years, I’ve met individuals so many different social workers and each story reminds me of the depth, diversity, and strength of our profession.

Dear NASW-WI Members,

I have never been someone who naturally enjoys change.

I like structure. I like knowing what to expect. I like being able to prepare, plan, and feel grounded in what is ahead. But if there is one thing this profession has taught me and continues to teach all of us is that change is inevitable.
